The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun was Germany's most produced armoured fighting vehicle during World War II. It was built on the chassis of the proven Panzer III tank. Initially intended as a mobile, armoured light gun for infantry support, the StuG was continually modified and was widely employed as a tank destroyer. In Project Reality, the StuG III is the tank destroyer of the Wehrmacht(1940). It has no machine gun mounts and a limited 90 degree turning angle for the turret, making it unsuitable for engaging infantry or fighting in an urban environment.

- The STUG III has a limited field of view for the gunner, thus it is imparitive for the driver to face the tank's front towards hostiles at all times
