The G3 is a 7.62x51mm NATO battle rifle developed in the 1950s by Heckler and Koch, in collaboration with the Spanish government. It was produced from 1958 to 1997, and about 7 million G3s have been made. It has a standard sized magazine of 20 rounds and is operated by a roller-delayed blowback operating system that is capable of semi-automatic or fully-automatic fire.

In Project Reality, the G3 is seen in the hands of Germany, the Taliban, the MEC, and the Insurgents.

TriviaEdit

  • German and MEC forces use the "proper" HK slap reloading technique, which involves removing the previous magazine and pulling the charging lever back before placing the next magazine. This process however, takes longer.
  • Taliban and Insurgent forces use the "improper" reloading technique, which simple involves replacing the magazines, followed by a quick pull of the charging lever. The process is faster than the "proper" technique, but would make the weapon more likely to jam in real life.
