Obtainment[]
The Anti-Air kit is a requestable, limited kit, which can be obtained when in a squad of 2 or more players. The only way to receive an Anti-Air kit is to request it at a supply crate, APC, or cache. There is a maximum of 2 anti-air kits per faction on the battlefield at anytime.
Usage[]
The Anti-Air (AA) kit acts in a similar role to the Heavy Anti-Tank and Light Anti-Tank kits, the AA kit operator is responsible for taking down low-flying aircraft who pose a risk to the operator and their squad. The AA kit operator can also choose to provide overwatch on the airspace above either an offensive or defensive objective. Riflemen ammo kits, ammo crates, and supply crates can also supply the AA kit.
Equipment[]
Most BLUFOR AA kits will have the FIM-92 Stinger as their AA weapon, while most OPFOR kits will have the 9K32 Strela-2 as their AA weapon. An exception to this is the Taliban faction's AA kit, in which their primary AA kit is equiped with the 9K32 Strela-2, while their alternative kit is equiped with the FIM-92 Stinger. It should also be noted that the FIM-92 Stinger's overall performance is better than that of the 9K32 Strela-2.
Most AA soldiers are armed with a ligher and/or ironsight variant of their faction's rifleman weapon. This is done to ensure the AA kit is used for anti-aircraft purposes, as well as reflecting real life situations where the weight of the AA system forces the soldier to carry less and ligher equipment.
